First prize in the participating delegations of the 9th Skills Contest 2020 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development

With 14 first prizes, 1 third prize, the College of Machinery and Irrigation has excellently won the first prize in the participating delegations at the 9th Skills Contest of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, 2020.

The 9th Professional Skills Competition of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was held at the College of Machinery and Irrigation and the Southern College of Technology and Agro – Forestry with 246 participants from 26 vocational colleges across the country. The candidates take part in 19 training fields/ sections and though the contest, have a chance to be selected for the teams for ASEAN and international skills competitions. The Competition Steering Committee has set up 3 Exam Boards: the Exam Board No.1 is composed of electrical installation, electronic engineering, refrigeration, wall and floor tiling, brickwork, plumbing and heat system installation. ; the Exam Board No. 2 consists of automotive technology, welding, mechanical engineering design, graphic design, information technology network management, and Web technology; the Exam Board No. 3 includes the occupations in the areas of agriculture, forestry and fishery.

For many years, the College of Machinery and Irrigation has regularly got good achievements in vocational skills competitions, teaching festivals in vocational education and training, and self-made training equipment competitions. At the 9th Skills Contest 2020, the College took part in 9 occupations (Electrical installation, electronic engineering, refrigeration, automotive technology, welding, graphic design, mechanical engineering design, information technology network management and Web technology) bringing 15 candidates to the Contest. As a result, with the achievement of 14 First Prizes and 1 Third Prize, the College has excellently overcome the other 25 Colleges to win the First Prize for the whole delegation.

Six students from the team of the College (VCMI) with the most outstanding achievements were honored to be selected by the Steering Committee for the team of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and other 6 excellent students were selected by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai to train for the national skills contest in 2020, so 12 students in total of the College will participate the national skills contest in 2020. The College is currently rushing the training and prepare the best conditions for the students qualified for the national skills contest.

With the theme “Competition of innovation – connection – towards technology 4.0”, the 9th Skills Contest of MARD aims at good participation in the National Skill Contest in 2020 and the ASEAN and international skills contests, though which honoring Vietnamese employee and contributing to the implementation of the industrialization and modernization of the country.
